We had the good fortune of connecting with Casey Burke and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Casey, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
How small it is! There are so many people all over the world that want to be actors and performers, but somehow everyone I know knows another person I know- and I didn’t introduce them!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What I love about acting and performing is that everyone is so unique. People from all over can be given the same scene, and everyone does it just a little differently.
I think I’ve always taken pride in my grounded-ness, and my shapeability. I love to collaborate with others, and my favorite part of working on a script is hearing how the writer or director pictured it and being able to bring their vision to life with a touch of my own flare.
I will never lie to anyone and say that being an artist is easy. You work so hard at your craft and dedicate so much of your time and yourself to things that (usually) don’t even pan out. It’s rejection and it’s loneliness and it’s self doubt. But it’s also fun, and spontaneous, and so incredibly fulfilling when it does go your way.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Wow! There are so many things to see…hmm…
If they’re new new you are gonna have to suck it up and take them to some touristy spots- Santa Monica Pier, Hollywood, etc. They’re old to us, but honestly so cool and worth seeing at least once- c’mon.
I love to show people the incredible views of the city from the overlooks on Mullholland Dr.
Food wise…
I love going down for KBBQ and drinks in K-town, as well as hitting up the go-to spots: In-n-Out (obviously), Porto’s, Eggslut, Jon and Vinny’s, El Cholo, Bacari.
There are so, so many. It really depends where in town you go, and what you’re willing to spend (lol).
Worth a drive to Malibu for the sunsets, as well as Nobu and Tony Taverna..
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I will always dedicate my accomplishments so far to my mom. She’s the reason I’ve kept going, the reason I made it to any of my auditions when I was younger, and the reason that I have been brave enough to follow my dreams.
