We had the good fortune of connecting with Jillian Romero Chaves and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jillian, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk has been an intrinsic part of my life and career. I see it as a catalyst for growth and innovation. Leaving a toxic relationship was a significant personal risk, but it paved the way for Clara for Daters, a venture born out of a desire to empower individuals in their dating journeys. Professionally, every strategic move and innovation involves an element of risk, and embracing these challenges has been pivotal in shaping Clara for Daters into a platform that redefines how people approach meaningful connections. When I lean into risk I always remind myself. There is no failure. You either win or you learn.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Clara for Daters is not a dating app; it’s a transformative platform focused on empowering users to choose and nurture intentional connections, wherever you meet them! What sets us apart is our emphasis on the early dating stages, often overlooked in the quest for meaningful relationships. In the midst of a loneliness epidemic, Clara for Daters becomes a crucial tool for fostering genuine connections. I take pride in creating a tool that democratizes resources typically limited to the affluent, like dating coaches, making them accessible to everyone.
The journey hasn’t been easy. Leaving a toxic relationship was my personal catalyst, and building Clara for Daters required overcoming challenges. Lessons learned include the importance of resilience, adaptability, and a deep understanding of user needs. My brand story is one of empowerment, innovation, and a commitment to redefining how people approach dating – a journey from personal struggle to a mission of social impact. I want the world to know that Clara for Daters is more than a platform; it’s a timely solution for addressing the loneliness epidemic and creating meaningful connections in our lives.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting Southern California for a week, I’d curate an unforgettable itinerary. We’d start with my favorite Mexican cuisine at South of Nick’s, savoring the flavors that make it a local favorite. A weekend retreat to La Quinta would follow, with margaritas and poolside music for the ultimate relaxation.
A trip to the beach would be a must, accompanied by a trail walk along the coast to soak in the stunning views. For a touch of magic, we’d indulge in a two-day park hopper at Disneyland, ensuring we bring some kids along to rediscover the enchantment. To balance the adventure, a Lakers game or a dressed-up evening at a themed masquerade party could be on the agenda.
And what better way to wrap up the week than with an exclusive night at the Magic Castle, adding a touch of mystery and wonder. Southern California offers a diverse range of experiences, from beachside serenity to the thrill of theme parks, creating the perfect blend for an unforgettable week.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my mom. Whose middle name Clara is the inspiration behind Clara for Daters. Mom, I don’t know where I would be today if you didn’t pick up my late night call that night. Thank you for being on the other line and reminding me in my darkest moment that I deserved more and giving me the courage to leave.
