We had the good fortune of connecting with Yuvanshree Dhayanithi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yuvanshree, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued a creative career because music has always been the most honest way I can express myself. Words alone were never enough for me—music helped me communicate emotions I couldn’t explain otherwise. Over time, it became more than just a passion; it felt like a responsibility to create something meaningful.

As an independent artist, I wanted the freedom to tell real stories without limitations. My work often reflects personal experiences and deeper social themes, like love beyond barriers, which is something I strongly believe in.

Choosing this path wasn’t about following trends—it was about staying true to what I feel and turning those emotions into something others can connect with.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is deeply rooted in emotion and honesty. I create music that focuses on the feelings people often struggle to express—silence, longing, love, and inner conflict. Instead of following trends, I try to keep my sound minimal and meaningful, allowing the emotion to take the lead.

What sets me apart is my intention to tell stories that go beyond language and cultural boundaries. As a Tamil independent music composer and singer, I want my work to connect universally, even if the listener doesn’t understand the words.

I’m most proud of staying true to my voice. As an independent artist, the journey hasn’t been easy—there were moments of doubt, limited resources, and the challenge of getting noticed without industry backing. But I kept going by focusing on consistency and believing in my vision.

Over time, I learned that growth doesn’t happen overnight. Every small step—releasing music, sharing my story, and building my presence—has contributed to where I am today.

What I want the world to know is that my music is not just something to listen to, but something to feel. My upcoming work, like “Wings Without a Voice,” reflects that vision—giving a voice to emotions that often remain unheard.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting, I’d want them to experience both where I come from and where I am now.

We’d start in Dindigul—exploring the local vibe, trying authentic food, and visiting Dindigul Fort for its history and views.

Then we’d head to Coimbatore, where I currently live. It’s a mix of calm and energy—good food, late-night drives, and just spending time talking about life and music.

The highlight of the trip would be a drive to Valparai. The journey through the hills, the tea estates, and the peaceful atmosphere make it special. It’s the kind of place where you slow down and really connect with nature.

Apart from places, I’d want them to experience the simple moments—music sessions, deep conversations, and the kind of memories that stay with you. That’s what I value the most, and that’s what inspires my music.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d definitely like to dedicate this to my family for their constant support and belief in me, especially during times when this path felt uncertain. Their encouragement gave me the confidence to keep going.

I’m also grateful to the independent artist community—seeing other creators stay true to their voice has been a huge source of motivation for me.

Beyond that, I draw a lot of inspiration from life itself—real emotions, relationships, and experiences shape my music. Every person who has been part of my journey, directly or indirectly, has contributed to the artist I am today.
