Meet Casey Smith | Guitar and Vocals in Von’s Island

We had the good fortune of connecting with Casey Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Casey, what do you attribute your success to?
The thing I find most important about our shows is that we have fun and our audience has fun. I want to give people a reason to leave their house and see us.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
It’s not always easy and being in a band with 4 total dudes, it’s easy to bump heads a lot when we’re working but we’re friends and I feel our chemistry works quite well to the point that it doesn’t matter if we disagree sometimes.
Getting along with a group in a general sense can be pretty easy if you just put your ego to the side.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There’s a-lot of things to do in the Los Angeles / San Gabriel Valley area of California, but it can also be pretty pricey. Probably my favorite dive bars and a few local shows around the area.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There’s a lot of recognition that goes out to the venues that have had us and the bands that have wanted to play with us, that’s not even to mention the fans that have stuck with us since the beginning. Some of those bands we started out with still play with us and we try to give out as much love as we can.
