We had the good fortune of connecting with Cassandra Zepeda and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cassandra, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My business started, I feel like most small businesses, during the pandemic. I used to make cheesecake cones for my friends just for fun and one of them suggested I make it a business.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a home based baker. I make cheesecake cones in different flavors! I wouldn’t say I’m the most popular dessert maker but the idea is unique and different. I like the fact that my business is local and home based. It really gives that “just like my mama use to make” kind of vibe. Every cone is made with love. I’m the CEO, chef, accountant, and the content creator for my business.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Camarillo is small but there’s definetely some hidden gems to enjoy! My husband and I really enjoy places where we can eat, drink, and be entertained. My favortie brunch spot is Waypoint Cafe. Other more known restaurants include: Finneys, Topa Topa, and Institution.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband was really the backbone of my whole operation. I don’t know how I would of continued without his support. There were multiple times were business was slow and I wanted to quit but he motivated me to keep on going!
