Meet Catie Chase | Educational Consultant, Student Life Coach, & Speaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Catie Chase and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Catie, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
My life’s work has been a privilege to support the student experience as an educator. I have been committed to empowering teens and emerging adults as a purpose-driven consultant and former elite independent school learning specialist for over 20 years. My goal has been to customize the support of the student experience in achieving their goals by building life skills to reach desired outcomes. As an educator during the Great Recession, a few Wildfires, and the Global Pandemic, students needed more support with effective tools to manage their personal and academic paths forward. My educational and professional expertise was limited by the new challenges most educators, students, and parents face together as a community.
Today, I am a certified Professional Life Coach, and my new coaching business is to support the Students’ Journey. The coaching model is an ontological framework to create results reflecting one’s life intentions, goals, and dreams. Although my clients for coaching can be anyone, including teachers and parents, my calling to become a Life Coach was because of my dedication to students and emerging professionals. My focus and concentration are on students who identify as neurodiverse learners (individuals who think and learn differently) rooted in empathy and connection, engagement, and learning about who they are first, then how to create goals for success in a time of challenge and uncertainty.
As a Certified Professional Life Coach, Catie supports the Student Journey with principles to develop tools and practice skills to create desired outcomes. Coaching is to reach desired goals with modern “life skills” for longevity. In 2024, I hope to release my first book, a self-support guide to empower girls and young women, Understanding Me A Modern Girls’ Guide to Managing Her Neurodiversity with Grit & Grace, with kindness and evidence-based research to share strategies for neurodivergent intersecting identities, high-achieving and twice-exceptional gifted students navigating their road to success.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
A career in education has been challenging over the last two decades as I have committed to the wellness and learning of the student experience. As a certified Professional Life Coach for teens and emerging adults, I am excited to support the Student’s Journey by empowering their lives to thrive forward into the possibilities. As an educational consultant and coach, students who are the most successful in their pathway forward are the people who have connections and belonging with mentors, learn to build and use life skills, and develop a sense of purpose for contributing to the world. I have learned that we all have dreams and visions to achieve our goals. We experience it looking differently once our goal or dream transforms into physical reality. We can use tools to manage those unwelcomed obstacles that naturally come our way, whether school, work, or life-related. Our lives evolve, and we grow, transforming at each stage in life, propelling forward forging our identity through our purpose.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
From the beaches and mountains to the parks, the city has some of the most incredible views in the world. It always takes my breath away like a postcard of one of the most scenic views. After a lovely drive, visiting the architecture and beautiful colors of our diverse and dynamic city, we would have lunch and for outside. We would probably be slightly outside the city, in Malibu, to visit Calamigos Ranch for more gorgeous sites sharing what California wine and food pairings offer.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I love this question so much! It’s one of the most essential and prominent messages in my book, Understanding Me A Modern Girls’ Guide to Managing Her Neurodiversity with Grit & Grace, for girls and young women – the power of peer mentorship and mentorship in schools, the workforce, and simply as an essential aspect of the human experience is of great value as we require connection and belonging to be visible and inspire each other to reach past our limited self-beliefs. I have dedicated my life to supporting others and paving the way for normalizing support for all learners and identities, with mentorship at the core for empowerment and effective change. Many people have supported my path as a mentor while I have been on my journey to pursue my goals and dreams. I want to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank the Academy for Coaching Excellence. In this professional program, I have had tremendous guidance and support, providing me the professional skills with research, training, and mentorship as the program’s pillars for success to become an exceptional coach in our industry.
