We had the good fortune of connecting with Cedric Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cedric, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I chose this career path because I am a lover of art. Ever since I was a child, I was always into creating things. Making art, doesn’t feel like work to me. It makes me feel like I’m living in a dream.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve been through a lot in my lifetime. Most people that I grew up around, never had to deal with any of those issues. My music, is about bettering yourself. You can feel the energy in every song that I make.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly, I’m a bit boring. I’m mainly a homebody, unless I have a studio session booked. I do enjoy burger spots, seafood & nice views. Nothing specific.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My biggest inspiration is Big Sean. I started listening to him back in 2010 and I never stopped. Fun fact: We were both born in Santa Monica and moved away while we were young. I relate to nearly all of the music he makes. Everything he does is for his family & his city. It inspires me to do the same.
