We had the good fortune of connecting with Ceevan Sherman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ceevan, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
This question resonated most with me and most other small businesses during this time. How do we keep on going? The thing that drives us most in our life is our purpose and for most for most of us its our super power once we find it. My “super power” is interacting with children and providing a platform where children can learn, play, and grow successfully. Once you know your super power and purpose you cant give that up for the world. Adapting and creating new ways to use that super power is the hardest part during these new times. This drives and motivates me to affect as many children’s lives as I can .
What should our readers know about your business?
We have been a staple in conejo valley in business for 33 years. I am proud to be a legacy of my parents .To be able to continue to provide a platform for children to learn how to explore their bodies and achieve all sorts of milestones from 3 months-10 years old. Facing Covid has been the biggest challenge for us. Having steady business for 33 years and all of a sudden that being disrupted has challenged us in oh so many ways. The main lessons I have learned along the way is to never give up on your what your purpose is once you find it. It has challenged me to pivot and provide our programming through other means like zoom. The main lesson is once you acknowledge what your purpose is, hold on to it and cherish it for dear life. Also we are in the process of creating mygymondemand.com! A user friendly platform where children can healthily move and engage at home through this new exciting venture!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would go to Malibu first hands down. Amazing hiking and wonderful restaurants. Being by the ocean makes me the happiest. I am a pretty easy going person. Put us in the outdoors in nature and I’ll be a happy camper. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents deserve the credit to my success. They are the founders of the company and am so thankful that they have bestowed this gift to me. We are so thankful to be able to positively affect children’s lives around the globe! They have taught me the concept of hard work and all the knowledge Ive learned with child development.
