We had the good fortune of connecting with Taydee Marie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Taydee, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
I have struggled with this question a lot in my own mind. The music industry is very hard and sometimes I want to just give up. I don’t though, because I know this is where I’m meant to be. I know that if I gave up I would never be happy and I would always wonder, “what if”. That is how I know I have to keep going.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a singer-songwriter with a passion for story telling. I learned to play piano when I was 15 and I have been writing and singing nonstop ever since. Music is what I live for, but this industry can be very difficult sometimes. I’m introverted naturally and a lot of what I do is Social media. As much as I love having the ability to share my music, living my life for everyone to see can be very draining. If it wasn’t for my parents, I don’t think I would be able to handle all of the pressure that comes with an online presence. I have learned to stay positive when things don’t go as planned, instead of complaining I just write a song about it and move on. Life is difficult, but at least I have my music. My newest song, “Losing Sleep,” released in January and I have another one coming next month.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my friend was coming to visit I would not head to the tourist areas unless that is where they wanted to go. I would take them to a few beautiful secluded beaches in and around Malibu and on a ton of hiking trails and then we would hit up the Mexican Food trucks in LA. The one tourist spot I would take them is Six Flags to ride the coasters. If left up to me we would spend most our time outside enjoying all the beauty and warmth of sunny California! Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents. They have always supported my career and have helped me through all the ups and downs of this crazy industry. I am very thankful for them and couldn’t have done it without their love and support.
