We had the good fortune of connecting with Cesca and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cesca, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
“Pick one career path, and put everything you have into that one thing.”
In reality I actually agree and disagree with that statement. I am in no way suggesting that a swimmer training for the Olympics should take up a job in marketing….I just feel that for some people, such as myself, I operate better when I have my hands in multiple endeavors. For so long I put everything I had into one project, and if the project was not successful, I was left starting from scratch.
I currently have three careers. 1. Writer (I wrote and am in the process of developing a television series. 2. Music (I am writing and releasing music both as an artist and for sync. 3. I am a Real Estate Agent at Coldwell Banker in Beverly Hills.
All three of those careers have one thing in common…they are all about making relationships and connections. Although they appear to be very different, they are actually all aiding each other towards a common goal.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My new song LONG WAY HOME is out now! I wrote it with some really cool cats Kong, Ben Epand, and Taylor Kinney. It’s about my struggle with anxiety, and I am really proud of it.
My series that I wrote and created is based off of my life and my struggle with being an actress in LA, during the age of Influencers. What is so special about this project for me is that I wrote it to create a job for myself. The projects I was auditioning for weren’t interesting, and I hadn’t read something I really loved in a long time. That’s when I’ve decided to take matters into my own hands, and write myself the perfect role. The series is now in development.
After that, the rest was history. I fell in love with television, and currently have 2 scripted projects, and three non scripted projects in development.
Last but certainly not least, I am newly with Coldwell Banker in Beverly Hills. Within one month of being with the company, I leased a gorgeous home in Santa Monica in 1 day!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Okay, so here’s the deal. I have a new obsession with hot wings. If anyone has any suggestion PLEASE let me know. I recently discovered 24 Hot Chicken in Studio City, and their hot wings are pretty fire.
You can also always find me at Crossroads Trading Co, in Studio City. I’m obsessed with clothes and have a shopping problem. I find a lot of cool pieces there.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shoutout to my significant other Brandon Moriarity. He is my biggest cheerleader, and my rock. He supports my commitment to my career and pushes me to be better and better. I love you.
In an industry with a lot of harsh realities, it is so important to surround yourself with people who wish you well in terms of your goals and the direction you want to go. This is especially important when it comes to who you are spending most of your time with.
I beg of you, if you are a brave enough soul to go out into the world, and risk SO MUCH to put yourself out there and create the life you want for yourself, PLEASE…I REPEAT, PLEASE don’t sabotage yourself by hanging out with assholes.
