We had the good fortune of connecting with Cesily Thompson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cesily, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
Women, mothers, single, married… we can literally be anything and do everything we set our heart out to do. We don’t have to settle for nothing or no one. We have the power to have it all. I’m a true testament of that.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m a private chef and entrepreneur. I curate menus, cater large events, develop products that will hit the market soon, and I cook for some very important people from time to time.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The one thing I love about living in the Washington, DC area is the plethora of dining and entertainment options. The first thing you have to do is Brunch. We would hit up Succotash or Yard Bird and then go shopping in Georgetown and something I do often is walk around the monuments. We have tons of museums and landmarks in our back yard.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Chef Chrissy, she’s my friend, mentor and she was the first person who pushed me out there and told me to go for it.
My father Chef Greg who has turned into my mentor in these last 5 years. He taught me the business of the food industry. He is my culinary university.
