Today we’re excited to be connecting with Charissa Saverio again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Charissa, we are so thrilled to be connecting again and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things you have been up to. Before we jump into all of that, some of our readers might have missed our prior interview, so can you take a moment to reintroduce yourself?
Hey there! It’s great to be connecting again. For those who might not know me yet, I’m DJ Rap—producer, artist, and founder of Propa Talent, celebrating 30 years in the game! My journey has been a wild ride, from being one of the first female pioneers in drum & bass to evolving as an artist, running my own label, and constantly pushing boundaries in music.

What sets me apart? I’ve always done things my way—whether it was breaking through in a male-dominated scene, mastering both the underground and mainstream, or staying fiercely independent while delivering music with heart and soul. Over the years, I’ve worn many hats: DJ, vocalist, producer, label owner, mentor… but at the core, it’s always been about passion and connection.

From classic anthems like Spiritual Aura to my latest Propa Legacy project—remastering my entire catalog, launching my second book, a documentary, and a special box set—followed by a brand new digital album, this journey has been about celebrating the music, the culture, and the incredible community that makes it all possible.

Luv&Bass,
DJ Rap 💋

Great, so let’s jump into an update on what you have been up to since we last spoke. What can you share with us?
It’s been an absolutely incredible journey, and I’m beyond excited for what’s ahead! Right now, my main focus is on Propa Legacy, a massive celebration of my career and the music that shaped it. First up, I’m releasing an exclusive Propa Legacy Boxset, which is something truly special for the fans—this is before the digital album drops. The boxset includes:

🔥 A stunning 50-page book, packed with stories and photos from my journey.
🔥 A USB loaded with 100 remastered tracks—bringing my entire catalog back, polished and powerful!
🔥 A USB documentary, diving deep into my history, my music, and the evolution of the scene.
🔥 Six pieces of beautifully pressed vinyl featuring 12 of my most iconic tunes.

But that’s not all—following the boxset, I’m also dropping a brand-new digital album with 15-20 fresh tracks. I wanted this to be a true evolution of my sound—keeping the roots of jungle and D&B alive while pushing things forward in a way that feels raw, powerful, and fresh. To top it off, I’ve had the honor of working with some of the best in the game on remixes of my classics, featuring Aries, Bladerunner, TC, Dope Ammo, Kleu, Spinscott, Heist, and Fish Octagon. Each artist brings their unique style, and the results are nothing short of fire!

This whole project is about legacy—honoring where I came from while carving out the next chapter. I’m putting everything into it, and I can’t wait for everyone to experience it.

What would the perfect day look like for you? Please give us as many details as possible.
Well, it’s free to dream, so here goes. A perfect day for me starts with waking up in my home, feeling refreshed and ready to take on the world. I enjoy a healthy breakfast on my balcony, taking in the breathtaking view of the beach—there’s nothing like the sound of the waves to set the right tone for the day.

After that, I head to my office to take care of emails and handle business, making sure everything is running smoothly. Once that’s done, it’s time to hit the beach and get my 10,000 steps in—walking by the ocean is my favorite way to clear my mind and stay active.

Lunch is all about great company and even better views, so I meet up with friends at a beautiful restaurant overlooking the sea, sharing good food and laughter. Then, I head home to reset before going for a horseback ride on the beach—there’s something magical about that connection with nature and the freedom it brings.

The afternoon isn’t complete without a gym session to stay strong and energized, and then it’s dinner with friends—good vibes, great conversations, and plenty of laughter. But the real magic happens when I step into the studio at night. That’s when creativity takes over, and I lose myself in the music, letting inspiration flow freely.

Beyond all that, I do my best to inspire others, whether through music or by helping in any way I can. I also make time to volunteer for animals whenever possible—it’s something close to my heart. By the end of the day, I always realize I need more than 24 hours to fit it all in!
