We had the good fortune of connecting with Charlotte Xia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Charlotte, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
My end goal is to open a preschool; I’ve been an artist, an actress, a model and a country singer; But ever since I had my child and became a mother, I have quickly discovered how much I love my child; Especially when he was diagnosed with congenital heart disease, I decided I had to take care of him on my own. So I decided to work in a kindergarten or preschool industries, because only in this way I can work and same time take care of my children; This also makes me feel that being with children is not only work, but also beautiful and happy.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am 36 years old, but it seems like I have experienced everything in the world – I was born and raised in China, I have lived in the United States for 13 years, I have experienced two emotional betrayals and injuries, their families like terrorists to hurt me and my family; Through bankruptcy, persecution and the loss of a father; But I did not fall down, because my mother and my children, they gave me the strength to persevere and my father in heaven, it is the love of my family let me overcome all the thorns again and again, now I am closer and closer to my goal, I seem to have seen my success slowly approaching me. Along the way, I have learned that life is short, and the love of my family is long and powerful.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I will take them to my native country China to climb the Great Wall in Beijing and eat Beijing roast duck. Then I will take them go to my hometown Jinan in Shandong Province to visit Baotu Spring, Daming Lake and the footprints where I grew up. I hope my best friend can experience the land where I grew up.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents and my children, I owe my success today to the love of my family and children, who have given me the strength to overcome every setback in my life.
