We had the good fortune of connecting with Chase Simone and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chase, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I was drawn to pursue a career in acting because of the unique opportunity it provides to discover new facets of myself through each role I play. Every character I embody has something valuable to teach me, whether it’s a profound insight into my own life or a deep understanding of the diverse experiences others might be facing. I believe that acting serves as a powerful medium for personal growth and empathy, allowing me to connect with the human condition on a profound level and share meaningful stories that resonate with audiences.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
In my journey as an actor, I’ve been fortunate to explore diverse avenues of creativity. With a foundation in theater, including musical theater during my formative years and a college major in Acting, I’ve transitioned my focus towards film and television since leaving school. Despite the challenges posed by starting my professional career amidst the pandemic, I’ve discovered spaces where I truly belong.
Working on various projects has been instrumental in shaping my path. Notably, I’m currently part of a project called “./sigma_001,” which delves into the potential role of AI in both society and in the entertainment industry. This experience has allowed me to immerse myself in the world of AI, a domain I might not have otherwise explored.
However, my journey has taken a new and exciting turn as well. During the ongoing SAG-AFTRA and WGA strike, I’ve embraced a writing journey. Drawing from my own experiences across various stages of life, I’m working on multiple scripts that hold deep personal significance. This foray into writing is not just an extension of my creative expression, but also an opportunity to share stories that have shaped me.
At the core of my journey is a commitment to personal growth. As I continue to navigate the industry and explore new creative avenues, my focus remains on roles and spaces that foster mental, social, and emotional development. Connection is paramount to me; I act to forge genuine bonds and meaningful interactions. The challenges I’ve faced, especially due to the pandemic, have strengthened my resilience and deepened my desire to contribute authentic narratives.
I am excited to share both the stories I’ve brought to life on screen and those I’m crafting as a writer. Through this journey, I hope to leave an impact that resonates on multiple levels and to continually evolve as an artist and individual.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’r start in Echo Park for a nice walk because it’s a weirdly nice escape from the city while not actually leaving it and lunch at The Park’s Finest which is this really good Pilipino restaurant . Then we’d go to Highland Park at some point to hit up Donut Friend and maybe go and enjoy a little music at The Hi Hat. I’d also want to take them to Grand Central Market one day because it’s an LA must, then stay downtown and hit the Arts District. I’ve met a lot of amazing people walking down there so I feel like that be a good time. Then I’d wanna go do some karaoke somewhere, I don’t really care where. Easy, fun, and full days. That’s what LA’s all about
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
To my sister, who ignited my passion for acting by her own involvement in theatre during middle school. Her influence led me to discover my own love for the stage, and I’ll forever be grateful for her inspiration.
To my middle school theatre teacher, who left a lasting mark with the mantra “UBUNTU” on the classroom wall. This message of interconnectedness has shaped not only my acting journey but also the course of my life. I owe my growth and success to the people who have walked alongside me, molding me into the person I am today.
