We had the good fortune of connecting with chef coop and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi chef, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
For me taking It is a way of life. Every day we have the opportunity to make a decision. Whatever that decision may be, it will impact our entire day and mindset moving forward. Personally, I see risk not as a board game or obstacle. Honestly, I view it as an opportunity to bet on yourself. Who has more to gain by this than you? With every risk, there should be a calculated game plan. For example after 10 years of working in radiology & hospitals. I had a burning desire to still serve people. Though now it would be through food as a chef in the culinary field. I counted the cost, sought out research on culinary academies, paid my dues in kitchens, and now looked to start my own company. With every risk, there is a percentage that things may not go your way. This is what I call the 80/20 risk rule. If the pro outweighs the con it’s defiantly worth pursuing. Sure there will be a slim chance of failure. Though betting on yourself in my opinion, is always worth the risk.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is everything. What sets us apart is the amount of detail that goes into each customer and client we interact with. Never being satisfied with just ok, but always striving for excellence in all facets. We offer plant forward cooking POV. Research has shown that plants are an essential component of our daily nutrition. In business, we have honestly made mistakes. With each one, we have learned from them and have become more efficient in what we do. As a catering company, we have come a long way. Last year was not easy, in fact, some businesses around us folded during 2020. Many who have been in business longer than we have. We are fortunate for the continued business within our community. We adapted to the times and continue to do so to better serve our valued customers. We have learned that if you say you can or can’t your rite. If you believe in your business and what you offer then show the world, take calculated risks, and give your best always. Feed people how you would like to be feed. Foods not just made, it’s krafted is our way of life and motto. We want to share with everyone our love of cultural global fusion cuisine. Also, that different taste good!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
FRIDAY I take my friend to the mountains, a nice walk and hike in the outdoors would be awesome! Then after working up an appetite we would swing by RIVERSIDE FOOD LAB. They have a plethora of restaurants to select from. After a little R&R, I would suggest the TIKI DRIVE-IN in Montclair. Double features are always fun. SATURDAY Head over to HERITAGE FARMERS MARKET IN RANCHO for some goodies. Victoria Mall & Ontario Mall for some shopping. After that road trip to BIG BEAR for some lake activities and pending on the weather maybe snow adventures. Cap it off with a visit to Dhat Island in Redlands, the flavors are literally AMAZING!! Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to shoutout my dear loving wife. At the time when I started the RCC Culinary Academy, we were just starting to date. I went through some of the hardest times financially, spiritually, life was just hard to be honest. It was starting to affect my studies in school. She was a light sent from the Lord God Himself. She encouraged me and helped me get through those challenging times. I know I didn’t and couldn’t have accomplished this on my own. She has been a steady rock in my life and a loving wife. She is simply the best, & compliments me in so many ways. Shoutout to my foxy brown wife KaSaundera!
