Meet Cheka Shining | Self love

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cheka Shining and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cheka, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
I think the most important thing I have done is to stand up against injustices, bullies and love myself fully. So I was able to achieve my goals. I started Cheka and Livey’s Self-Love Club, Cheka Shining Self-Love Revolution, Cheka Shining I am enough movement, and Cheka Shining teach them young movement, Cheka Shining body positive movement. I am a Self-love coach and have truly gone through trails and tribulations, but I keep moving forward. I am a single mother of 5 , and the Creator of the first Positive Affirmation Runway, my daughter is the first child Self-Love Advocate and we created the first Self-Love pledge during the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop in the Boogie Down Bronx. I created a legacy of hope for others because it’s loving yourself first that you can shine your light. Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started in 2019 when I created a YouTube channel, Can you relate? Then I had the honor of doing some extra work in some movies, I had the privilege of doing runway, and modeling with some amazing photographers, I started my self love movement 7 years ago posting messages of positivity and encouraging others to chase there dreams. Overcoming betrayal by firends and associates, and still finding kindness in my heart to keep going with a positive mindset. I am greatful to my mentors that have encouraged me to fight for my dreams.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Central Park is one of my favorite places among other parks. Nature is just so beautiful, if you stop and look around there is always beauty .

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am truly grateful and blessed for every opportunity I’ve had in my life good and bad. I am greatful to have created my own company Shine your light L.L.C. and Cheka And Livey’s Self-Love Club, I had opportunity to model, runway, actress, voice actor. Book is coming out soon so be on the lookout. Beautiful designs on my shirts that spread the message we are blessed to be alive are drawn by my 12 year old daughter and she drew them when she 11.
