We had the good fortune of connecting with Chi Fan Wang and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chi Fan, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Continuously learning new knowledge, embracing different ways of thinking, and persistently exploring the world are my secrets to continuous progress and ultimately achieving success.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe my career is still on a journey, but my current achievements are due to continuous communication with the team and relentless practice in animation. I believe that executing projects from the company’s perspective is one of the key factors that can greatly enhance team efficiency. Furthermore, don’t be afraid to face unknown problems and come to a standstill. Sometimes coexisting with the unknown is the key to solving problems and continuing to progress. I believe this journey is not easy, but it requires time and effort. I want to convey to everyone in the world that if you love something, keep working hard and have fun. There will be painful moments, but don’t let that make you doubt your passion because when you feel the pain, it means you are about to improve your abilities even further.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I will take my friends to Hoboken, New Jersey, to enjoy the sunshine and walk to a small hill to view the Manhattan skyline. Cleansing the mind and looking at the city from a distance are activities that can bring inner peace.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The Pokémon animation has had a profound impact on me. This animation sparked my interest in creating animal animations. It also taught me to accept any setbacks and keep moving forward. In the animation, the protagonist always loses in the Pokémon battles. However, this 10-year-old boy always moves forward after a brief moment of sadness. I am deeply moved by this spirit of resilience.”
