We had the good fortune of connecting with Chloe Eshel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chloe, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my social and content consultancy started organically after leaving 818 and Sprinter, but makes sense when I think back because I’ve always been entrepreneurial. When I was young, I was always creating businesses like reselling streetwear or making wallets. I’ve always loved the idea of building something from the ground up and creating opportunities for myself. It’s in my blood!

I’ve always craved autonomy. I’ve always known I wanted a career where I could be creative, think strategically, and have a real sense of ownership over the work I was doing; as well as having financial independence.

Starting my own consultancy has given me the freedom to show up authentically, respectfully, and passionately for my clients and myself. I leaned into the skills I had built through past internships, freelance projects, and years of self exploration in social strategy, content creation, influencer marketing, and brand strategy. I knew I had a strong understanding of what makes brands stand out online, not just aesthetically, but strategically.

What started with being the Social Media Manager and Content Creator for Beer Girl turned into some incredible opportunities to work with some incredible brands across food & beverage, wellness, beauty, and lifestyle – wearing many hats across social strategy, content production, creative direction, influencer partnerships, and community building. One of my biggest “pinch me moments” from this year was when I was brought on to capture social content of Dior’s new launch of their J’adore Dior Parfum, with Rihanna as the face of the campaign.

I’m just getting started 🙂

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When people ask about my “job” or “what kind of content I create,” I think about it as much more than creating visually appealing content. For me, the art is in storytelling; understanding a brand’s identity, and consumer, and translating its vision into creating content that feels aesthetically compelling, organic, emotionally resonant, and grounded in authenticity. I believe that in order to have a well rounded understanding of social strategy, one must also understand the technical aspects of creating content, production, photography, videography, and visuals; I believe that’s what sets me apart.

I care deeply about visuals, but I care just as much about intention. Anyone can create cool and aesthetic content, but not everyone understands how to create content and build campaigns that instill trust, drive connection, and move a brand forward. I approach every project by asking: What story are we telling? How should this brand make people feel? Why should people care?

Through internships and hands-on experience, I learned a lot, but I also realized I wanted more creative freedom, more ownership, and more alignment in the work I was doing, which is why I went into freelancing.

The biggest lessons I’ve learned from previous experiences, clients, mentors, and colleagues are: always ask yourself how you can add value to a team, over prepare for client meetings, trust your instincts, stay adaptable, and don’t fear pivoting. Growth is certainly not linear, and some of the most uncertain moments can lead to the most meaningful and cool opportunities.

What I want people to know about me and my business is that everything I do is rooted in authenticity, creativity, connection, and being MYSELF.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Just so happens that a close friend of mine was staying with me and I had made plans to eat at: All Time, Bar Etoile, Max & Helen’s, South Beverly Grill, and Marvin. And I took her shopping on Melrose Place, and then we went to RLT and Ending Soon. A good mix of delicious food, and some chic fashion. I love walking on Ocean Blvd in the morning with a friend, or walking on Sunset Blvd in Los Feliz on a Saturday and checking out the farmers market!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would not be where I am without two individuals, one being, my sister, Ari. She is a Creative Brand Consultant, and was a Brand Director at a creative studio for many years focused on beauty and skincare. We actually went freelance around the same time, and besides being my sister and all, she is probably the reason why I became so fascinated and curious about this world. Whether it be looking over her campaign decks to help her infuse social-forward concepts, or joining in on one of her meetings as a sophomore in college to help her team brainstorm some product names for an upcoming e.l.f. launch, it was always so exciting and I knew I wanted to be in this world. I am so incredibly grateful to have someone like Ari to look up to both as a sister and a mentor.

I’d like to shoutout Quinn Meyers. Quinn was the Content Director at the agency with Ari, and he’s also become an incredible mentor to me. He’s always available to brainstorm an idea or answer any questions I may have, and he even let me shoot BTS on a huge campaign he directed, which was such an incredible experience! I am very grateful to have Quinn in my corner to support me and guide me.
