We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Anthony Lansdowne and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I’ve been a voice actor for almost 40 years, I’ve had great successes and many disappointments, but I do believe it’s all been a very important part of my story as a successful voice actor. I’ve survived in a very competitive business partially due to my love for people, my perseverance, and my faith in God.
When I am in a studio or on a set, I’m always interested in other people’s lives, so I’ll take the time to connect with them, be a good listener, a good encourager, and be interested in their stories. People are just like good books, if we take time to open them and read their stories, we will be fascinated by how much we will learn about them and even life.

Many years ago, I was the voice for Mattel’s Barbie, It meant much more to me than just a voice-over job, it was a powerful way to encourage little girls and tell them how important and special they were, coming from Barbie was a powerful tool for me to speak positivity into their lives! Being kind to people is an important ingredient to any job you choose to pursue in your life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
All job & career choices are part of your life’s journey, they’re all part of how you grow. Every job I’ve chosen before & even now helps me in some positive way if I choose to let it. In my early 20s, I demonstrated cookware for the Oster company and I would demonstrate their cookware to large groups of people, It taught me to improvise and be funny, and later in my voice acting career, it was the very skill that helped me book jobs! You just never know!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The beach!! It’s free, it’s beautiful and nothing is as spectacular as the ocean! And seafood is my favorite! Nothing says California more than sitting in the sand on the beach!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Jerry Lansdowne, my supportive husband, my talented & amazing daughter Kelsey Rae, and my dedicated hard-working agents at AVO Talent, and most of all, God.Jerry Lansdowne – my husband Sandie Schnarr- my agent
