Meet Chris Delhomme | Communications Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Delhomme and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
It was the perfect recipe of timing, circumstances and God. I’ve spent my career doing in-house communications at major companies like NBC, Comcast and Paramount. Major shifts in the business, my desire to live/work in both LA and New Orleans and divine intervention led to the perfect storm that is “Delhomme Communications.” Starting my own business allows me to be tri-coastal with clients on both coasts and the Gulf Coast. It’s also the ideal opportunity to expand my purview- entertainment, television, music as well as non-profit, lifestyle and travel.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The core of my business is taking clients to the next level through creative communications. Hustle and integrity are my touchstones and finding new ways to create a narrative, build key relationships and break through in media is the goal. Collaborating with partners- clients, brands, teams, artists, etc.- and journalists to craft the most effective stories is what I do best. “Delhomme Communications” uses my experience, talents and tenacity to expand my reach in the entertainment industry as well as new areas.
Most recently, as VP of Communications for Paramount Global, I headed up the West Coast office and strategy for Paramount Media Networks and MTV Entertainment Studios. In this role, I was a guide behind the storytelling that was a key ingredient in brand growth and transformation- ratings, subscribers, benchmarks, creating pop culture, etc. Always staying true to my New Orleans upbringing, I embrace service and social impact as extensions of my professional and personal life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
It has become so cliche to say “blessed,” but I truly feel that way every day. Living between two of the most incredible cities in the U.S. that are so different, I have completely different highlights in each…here are a few favorites for both:
LA (spend as much time outside as possible!):
Will Rogers Beach (AKA Ginger Rogers for the gays) in Santa Monica
Hiking- especially Temescal and Fryman Trails (Shoutout to Anna Davis for our Super Soul Saturdays!)
El Cholo for fun Mexican food with a great patio
Pace for delicious Italian food (and usually a celebrity siting.)
SoulCycle (inside activity, but such a fun workout- shoutout to Grace, Emily and Brian!)
Unplug (also inside, but meditation is life changing and Unplug has it all.)
New Orleans (spend as much time eating as possible!):
Irene’s- it’s romantic and amazing NOLA cuisine
Galatoire’s- Friday lunch is my version of Heaven
Monty’s for Beignet Fries
Port-Of-Call for burgers
The Will & The Way delicious mock/cocktails
Ayu Bakehouse for coffee and anything sweet!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
So many! I’m the youngest of seven children so my big Catholic New Orleans family definitely gets my first shoutout- led by my Mom, Shelby (the original Steel Magnolia), who values faith, relationships and hard work. Also, the late Joe Warfield who was a brilliant theatre director and teacher- he inspired me to dream big and lit my fire for creativity. Last, but certainly not least, my partner Daniel Rhyder who makes our life full of artistic expression every day!
