Meet Chris Evans | Luxury Wedding photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris J. Evans and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris J. Evans what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor for my success is 100% in the relationships I’ve built within the wedding industry. I always lead with kindness and gratitude and when people operate like that I feel success awaits. In the world of weddings referrals can come from any vendor, from a florist to a make up artist or a caterer. So the kinder you are to every wedding pro the more chances you’ll have of someone speaking highly of you.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art truly lives in the space I create for couples to lose any and all insecurities and to feel to confident, beautiful and relaxed while I’m photographing them. It can be a nerve racking experience having your photo taken and I’m keenly aware the power a photographer has. I want to use that power to make people feel incredible.
I fell into this business by chance when a friend asked me to shoot her wedding. I was hooked immediately. It was everything I loved about photography in one day. Fashion, love, beauty and family.
Weddings are a highly competitive industry especially for photographers but I was able to cut through the noise with stellar branding, referrals and a grass roots team of vendors that all promoted eachother..
With over 12 years in business and over 500 weddings later I confidently call weddings my art and yes I deliver a product but you’re investing in the experience and passion I bring to the celebration.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Welcome to SoCal! We’re gonna hit in-and Out first cause you got to! Then we’ll hit the waves in Ventura where I live and post surf get some tacos. We’ll find a killer reggae concert then stay up late catching up.
The days always start with an early gym session then we seize the day with fun!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My story could not be told without including so many incredible people who’ve believed in me along the way. From my dear friends tropical Maui weddings who were the first planners to give me a shot to Silvia at The world famous Haiku Mill on Maui who brought me in and really helped to build my career. Robyn Iiea from Pacific weddings magazine, Thea Hardgrove from California Wedding day magazine. The list could keep going but I’ll finish it off with my incredible wife of 17 years Sarah Evans.
