We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Greene and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking RISKS should be and in most cases is an important part of living life in my opinion! We wake up everyday, leave the comfort of our own homes and run the risk of not making it back to them on a daily basis. The idea of comfort comes from feeling secure and in order to feel secure we must trust ourselves to repeatedly face a fear, obstacles, threats and or failure. As they say “no risk, no reward”. If I did not take risks in college at 19 years old to put myself out there and try this thing called Acting, I would not be where I am today in any way shape or form. Taking risks allowed me to gain confidence, courage, strength and most importantly…COMFORT!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a proud Storyteller(Actor). Have been for the last 20 years and hopefully I will see 20 more.
What sets me apart is my work ethic. It drives me to be the best at my craft and focus on what I want to achieve in my work. I take pride in providing my audience with a powerful and memorable performance and knowing that they will leave from viewing my work and discuss it amongst themselves excites me.
This profession is a life long marathon not a sprint. It is not easy being a creative in any art, especially the Dramatic Arts. It is a long and most times lonely road, but the payoff in the end is unlike anything else. Trusting yourself, your beliefs and those who truly support you will help you get over the hump.
The main lessons I have learned in this industry is be careful who you are loyal too and who you trust! People will take advantage of your kindness and that is not a good feeling, in fact you may feel pretty low.
My organization THE LOAA, Life of an Actor, is more than just a place to take acting classes or learn about the business…it is a community and I take that very seriously. It truly takes a village to raise a good PERSON! That is my goal, to build a brand and be someone that can foster great relationships which will influence those who can change this world for the better.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I travel quite a bit so it depends on which City I am in haha. If in the ATL I am always down to hit MidTwon, Decatur, Little Five Points…if I am in Orlando then of course people want to hit the parks, but I-Drive for a little Top Golf is always a good look. Hell even heading up the road to Tampa is nice! In Cali I pretty much stick to Inglewood, Redondo/Manhattan Beach, Studio City and Malibu so I can enjoy time with my folks out there.
But being a native New Yorker, Money Earnin’ & YO lets GO, New York City is always gonna be my go too!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My daughter has saved my life…literally. Still does to this day. The thought of disappointing her is overbearing and makes me work even when I feel like there is no progress being made. She is an inspiration and motivation for me. At times I truly feel as though I am undeserving of her, but she reminds me every day that the great things we have in this life are earned in one way or another.
In regards to my Acting career, I have to thank coaches Dennis Neal, Robb Maus and Ted Brunetti as they each have given me the tools to remain confident while in pursuit of being one of the elite Actors that has left behind a lasting impression on this world.
