We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Tucker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind our success (aside from hard work) is listening to the consumer. We are fortunate enough to be in an industry where people request things, or make their needs very well known! Listening to those needs and being able to provide the tangible items requested has always been a win/win for us. Because we are an Allergy Conscious Bakery, we often times get request for things that people enjoyed from childhood or before they noticed a certain allergy they currently have to keep top of mind. Being able to take something nostalgic and make it gluten-free or vegan, allowing clients to enjoy their favorites from the past is something we find pure joy in, while again, producing the tangible, sellable items.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Betta With Butta is an Allergy Conscious Bakery offering local LA delivery and nationwide shipping. We pride ourselves in curating corporate gifts that all employees can enjoy, while offering a wide selection of baked goods that can be ordered directly from our website. We primarily do gluten-free and vegan baking but also offer custom cakes for local LA customers.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We love a downtown LA moment! Some of the best vegan spots are on the East Side, but we often go to Vow Burger for their CKN Sandwich which is on Melrose. We tend to go after the swap meet at the high school which is a great thing for out of towners to see! If I was really looking to impress someone with an amazing vegan meal, Id take them to Crossroads. I love their brunch! A trip through west Hollywood and checking out Westfield Century City mall for a shopping experience under the LA weather. We would sit at Din Tai Fung and enjoy their new vegan options for a late lunch!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Im really fortunate to surround myself with a group of friends, family, and a husband that has always encouraged me to go after my dreams. For me, it was figuring out what those dreams were that took a bit of time. My support system and the encouragement they have always given me is why Betta With Butta is alive and running today!
