We had the good fortune of connecting with Christabelle Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christabelle, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I grew up having a passion for the performing arts and have gotten many opportunities to perform on stage and even be a background actress. I am pursuing a career in the performing arts because I believe there is a power in music and horseback riding. The Hispanic culture is so rich that needs to be taught to future generations to keep our traditions alive. I enjoy singing, So my future project is to open an academy where we can teach the skills for vaqueros(as) to find the blend in music and horseback riding. Many people don’t know much about the cultural aspect of Mexican charros (as) or what an escarmuza even is. I am very proud to be a Latina and share my cultural traditions with others.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I took risks for every opportunity presented to me and took risks. Even though at first I was studying engineering, I still looked for acting and singing opportunities. It wasn’t until I dedicated my time to expanding my skills in acting and music. The challenges that I faced included, missing family and school events to go to an audition and I sometimes had to use personal resources. I have learned that it is a very competitive career path where consistency is important. One of the challenges that I face is that It can be hard to balance multiple responsibilities from school and home. I want to inspire the younger generation to pursue the purpose that they have found.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend Roxanne were to hang out with me for a week, we would start the day by eating at The Original Pancake House. Afterwards we will go to the Petersen Automotive Museum and then eat at revolving sushi. On the second day, we would go to Barnes and Noble and buy books, then go to Flame Broiler to get some food. Afterward, we would always go to a park and have a small picnic and read the books we bought. On the third day, we will go to the Anaheim packing house and pick different cuisines to eat and boba drinks. Another place we will go to is the mother colony house. On the fourth day, we will go to the east-west Ice Palace and eat Thai food at Thailicious. On the fifth day, we will go to the Source OC and afterward go to the Great Park balloon ride.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my Mother, Yesenia Garcia, who has helped me push further to my dreams. She is an amazing teacher who has always reminded me to focus on my path even though it might be rough. As well as patience and how everything takes time and a process for something big to happen.
