We had the good fortune of connecting with Christian Ojore and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christian, what do you want your legacy to be?
This is a question I’ve often thought about. The reason being is mainly for my children, that I could leave a legacy that they would be proud of being a part of and continuing. As for as what I want that legacy to be is that I am an example of what it looks like to have faith in God for something and He provided. Also that I cared about more than my personal success but the success of those around me. I want people to remember I gave, cared and loved, as a husband, father, and friend. I want people to remember that I did it the right way as an actor/entertainer the best way I could. I want people to remember that even in my flawed human self they saw what Christ did for me, in me and that through me many were blessed with careers because of that faith.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well I’m an actor. I think we are all different and that’s what sets us all apart from each other. No one else can be me, have my voice, my tone, my quirks, or how I deliver a line, it is unique to me. My faith in God and hardwork is what got me here, which is never easy. You have great auditions you don’t book, people causing roadblocks because they don’t like your confidence, you have droughts of booking and auditions. You have to believe in the gift God gave and keep moving. For me I just want to do good work and when you get me you get someone honest and fair.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First and foremost I’m a 49ers fan so we would probably start the week at 49ers game. We would come back down to LA and check out the Griffith Observatory, while on a hike of course. Hopefully there’s a show in town we can check out. Then probably do something big at the house like a BBQ and invite some people over to enjoy each other’s company with food, karaoke, and games. Then end it off with church service, got to get our praise on!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely! First and foremost, Christ! Cliche as it may sound it’s the truth. After him would be my wife, for loving me enough to give me the freedom to be exactly who I was made to be. To my parents for introducing me to acting when they saw there may be something there. To my kids that give me the motivation to keep moving even on my worst day. To my friends like Shay Roundtree, Lonnie Edwards, Marek and Conphidance for being consistent and unconditional supporters without judgment but willing to call me out on my stuff! Last my manager Lisa Reed Tucker (Discover Management) , Tay Smith and Chris Young (SYT Agency) , and Marci Polzin (Artistic Talent) helping me keep the dream alive.
