We had the good fortune of connecting with Christian Ramos and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christian, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am from San Jose, California and am Mexican American! I grew up with hard working parents and seeing that has made me become like my parents. They inspired me to always work hard no matter what it is that I am working. Thankfully, my parents have always been very supportive in everything that I do and it has really helped me thrive in my passion for music. Since a young age, they allowed me to try out and do hobbies that interested me. It was always either soccer or music for me which is what I love. They always wanted me to enjoy what I do.
My childhood at school wasn’t the greatest as I always had hard times fitting in at school and experienced a lot of bullying. There were days when I felt as if nobody wanted to be my friend and it was very difficult. Around these times is when I discovered EDM (Electronic Dance Music) and I fell in love with the community and music associated with it. It really helped me cope with everything I was going through. Artists such as David Guetta, Calvin Harris, and Firebeatz were some of my favorite at the time.
Today, my background and upbringing has helped me become a Bass DJ/Producer and fall in love with music knowing this is something I want to do for the rest of my life.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a Bass Music DJ/Producer and go by CRVTE. What sets me apart from others is the way I fuse melodic elements with dark sounding sounds in my music and DJ sets. I am currently in the process of rebranding and am very exciting to share my new sound as it is slightly different from the music I currently have out now.
To get where I am now, it has definitely been a challenge! I still have long ways to go but I am happy where I am now. There have been lots of times where I have self doubt, anxiety, and issues caring about pleasing everyone with my music. I have been able to cope with some of these issues by realizing that at the end of the day I am making music because it makes me happy. So if people can relate and connect with my music that is great! If people don’t connect with my music that is also okay because everyone is different and that is okay.
I want the world to know that I have a lot of new music coming soon and I can’t wait to share what I have been working on!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely take them to eat some Mexican street tacos! Los Poblanos has one of the best tacos in LA in my opinion and I am sure my best friend would love them. Another place would be Tacos La Guera on Lincoln! Then I would take them to Manhattan Beach and enjoy the Sunny LA beach. I would also add a fun stop to the Bluffs Creek Trail and go hiking for a bit!
I am a big Universal Studios person so we would definitely stop there! Another fun place I enjoy going to is The Mystic Museum which has a lot of cool horror movie memorabilia. There is also a collectible toy store across the street from the Mystic Museum which has some unique toys from famous movies.
Lastly, I can’t forget to bring them to a EDM show at Exchange LA. This would probably be the last thing we do for their trip to LA. Save the best for last!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
100% my parents! They have always been very supportive and there for me. My parents have always wanted me to do what I love and help me accomplish my goals. Whenever I need advice or their opinion on any decision I need to make they are always more than happy to guide me. I am very thankful for them. Shoutout my parents!
