We had the good fortune of connecting with Christiana Ewing and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christiana, how has your background shaped the person you are today?

Hello! So I am originally from Los Angeles Ca, Later moving to the Antelope valley where I was raised and later started my work as writer and poet.

After experiencing much trauma growing up I often fought with self esteem issues and feeling as if I was unworthy of the things that I desired. In 2009 While headed out with friends I was in a life threatening car accident, as a result I suffered injuries that left me in bed for months. When I tell you “That accident changed me at just 18 years old to a person I no longer recognized”. I was unknowingly suffering with PTSD.

In 2014, I was involved in yet another car crash . This time I was left with not just the mental and emotional scars but physical ones as well. Undergoing several operations to my face and body for several months kind of took a toll on my Mental Health. “I had to stay inside my home for almost a year because of the accident trying to rebuild my body, health and just who I was as a person, my lifestyle ”. Some days I would wake up and not want to get out of bed suffering feeling like I was drowning in Depression. The Scars on my face seemed like a everyday reminder of my pain and trauma.Through it all I never lost faith in GOD. I knew that there had to be a greater lesson in all of this tragedy and loss that I was feeling. I made a promise with myself that i would chose Gratitude everyday because I was still alive ! When I did this it shifted something inside of me . It’s like a switch had went off that life was not happening to me and that I did not have to continue to allow my trauma and pain to define me, but yet I would define it ! This was the beginning of my healing journey . I began to dedicate my 7th Day (Sabbath) to my Healing. I used this day as my Self Care day. I would dedicate a entire day to simply resting and caring for my Mind, Body, and Soul. I became passionate about The power of Healing because I was feeling the transformation that Something as simple as Self Care was having on myself”. I found myself creating Journals of recipes of Herbs and their healing powers, as well as oils, plants and botanicals. I soon began creating my very own Self Care and Aromatherapy products.

“I believe that Self Care is the highest form of Self Love, so when I began caring for myself holistically, I began to heal through Self love, which lead to Self acceptance”. “I create these products to help promote self love through self care and aromatherapy “ . What sets 7th Day Essentials apart is that we aren’t just creating products but we are helping others to learn the power of Holistic Healing and practices. It’s so much greater than skin care, it’s Self love through Self Care.

“I believe everyone has the power to heal themselves first through Self Love and acceptance , then through loving others in that same manner”.

I have now had the pleasure of providing my products to over 10,000 customers worldwide and my business 7th Day Essentials in The Largest Outlet Mall in Southern CA. Our products have been in the Ontario Mills Mall,(Ontario Ca,) Victoria Gardens (Rancho Cucamonga Ca,) they are also located in Dreamland Store (Rancho Cucamonga, Ca)

This makes me extremely proud. I have worked extremely hard and I am mostly proud of the fact that I continue to push through and overcome all of the challenges that I have faced on my Journey. It isn’t easy but this process is beyond rewarding. It’s not just the journey of Entrepreneurship but my personal journey of becoming a greater, stronger human.
I’m most proud of just getting started and following through with a vision that was once only a thought. I’m also proud that I took this leap of faith that has now put me in a position to be a full-time mother while still doing what I love! What sets me apart is my resilience. No matter what challenges I’ve experienced, I’ve always been able to find the faith and strength to keep going!

I think that’s one of the most important lesson that I have learned on my journey is that Entrepreneurship is more about becoming the person needed to be Successful, rather than chasing success.

I want people to understand that My mission is to inspire others on this Journey of Holistic Healing through Self Care and Aromatherapy. My products were created with the intention of promoting self-love and healing through self-care and aromatherapy products such as: candles, body butter, scrubs, and more! I believe that the highest form of self-love is through self-care, healing the mind, body, and soul through the senses.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely! I have to give all the credit first to GOD who is the head of my life. I wouldn’t have become the woman that I am today without my faith ! He has ordered each and every step in my personal journey as well as the success in my business . Secondly, my Daughter, Autumn. Being a single mom hasn’t been easy but my daughter has been my greatest motivation to keep striving forward. She is truly my “Why” . Even when things become challenging , I continue to persevere through because I know that I am changing the dynamic of my lineage , building generational wealth for her and breaking out of certain stigmas within my family and community is so important to me.
