We had the good fortune of connecting with Christina Flach and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christina, what’s the most important think you’ve done for your children?
I think the most important thing that I have done as a parent is setting the example I wanted my children to see by my actions not just my words. Our children see and remember everything we do during their informative years. We can tell them words all day long, but if we don’t show them the example of hard work, high morals, being respectful to everyone, not seeing us drinking or doing drugs and having a loving heart. Until my daughter Rose told me about a year ago that my lectures on drugs and alcohol were “lame”, which really surprised me, since I thought they were award winning after being the mother of 5 and 4 “bonus kids”, I truly thought I had my lectures down to an art. Clearly I was very wrong. She said the example I set, by my work ethic, my kindness to others and most importantly never seeing me drunk or high impacted her more then any lecture I had given over her.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a celebrity makeup artist and CEO of Pretty Girl Makeup. I am represented by Zenobia Agency. I do television, movies, fashion, and E-Commerce. I think what sets me apart from other makeup artists, is that I have created my own line but I still go on set and that keeps my vision fresh when I am being a CEO and creating new products. I defiantly have a look that comes across in my portfolio. My goal is to always make my clients look and feel like the best versions of themselves. I strive for my clients to have fresh dewy flawless skin. I love being on a set, working with a team, and meeting new people in a new setting. I am kind of a gypsy, I love not being in the same place and working with new people. even though I am blessed to work with the same people over the years, it feels new because I am never in the same place everyday. It has not always been an easy rode moving my way up the ladder as a makeup artist or a CEO. I have at times had to work with difficult people, be under very stressful circumstances, worked long hours and sometimes outside in the freezing cold or during heat. I love the intensity of my work, the freedom it gives me and being able to express myself artistically as a makeup artist but also as a creator of Pretty Girl Makeup. I have learned that hard work pays off, being flexible and willing to help with tasks that aren’t mine, but for the better good of the shoot. When my agent calls, I always answer the phone with a “Yes”, even before I know the details of the project. I have always had a positive attitude, and treat everyone I come in contact with respect and kindness. Being a makeup artist has taken me to amazing cities, and given the opportunity to work with extraordinary people I have dreamt of meeting. I want the world to know that Pretty Girl Makeup in 2021 is going to reach new levels of greatness with new additions to the makeup line, a skincare and hair care line that I am currently working on. I want to continue with being a Sepsis Awareness advocate in honor of my husband Ken Flach who passed away in 2018 from Sepsis. I want to raise more money for the Baby Beau and Ken Flach educational funds at the Northern Light School in Oakland ,California. Making the world a better place is something that brings me much joy and happiness.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely show my Best Friend all the amazing views of the San Francisco Bay Area, starting with a morning hike on Mt. Tamalpais with views of San Francisco and the the coast line down to Stinson Beach. A Seafood lunch in Sausalito at Scomas , looking out at Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge. A drive up to Sonoma and Napa for wine tasting and walking around Yountville. There are so many wonderful stores and restaurants to explore. A hike on the beach by Pigeon Point to see the elephant seals while they are mating . My hot power yoga class with Susan Hauser of Now Power Yoga, followed by tea and a walk around Mill Valley. We would go ride my horse Calvin!. A boat ride to Alcatraz is a must! The views from the island and the tour of the history of Alcatraz is really interesting! There is a wonderful cheese factory out in Nicassio that has a tour on how they make cheese and a picnic next to the lake on the property. We would do a home cooked dinner at my house where we could eat outside on a warm evening. I love where I live and sharing it is truly a pleasure!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Michelle Lewis from the Northern Light School, she is the head mistress at the school where I have the Baby Beau and Ken Flach Educational foundation for under privileged children. The Sepsis Alliance – I am a sepsis awareness advocate since the passing of my husband Ken Flach in 2018
