Meet Christina Rossell | Owner of The Paw Shopp

We had the good fortune of connecting with Christina Rossell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christina, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My dogs are my everything to me and being a crazy loving dog mom inspired me to start a business that allowed other dog parents a unique way to show their love for their dogs. I know there are a ton of different dog inspired businesses but having a dog bowl with your actual dogs face on it or your dog as croc charm was something that I hadn’t seen in the dog industry. I wanted to kickoff the start of my business with a unique and different product that wasn’t really done before. I knew it was gonna take a lot of work and was up for the challenge of sharing my dog loving ideas with others.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The Paw Shopp specializes in making unique custom products incorporating your furry friend. I feel what sets us apart is the relationships we build with our supporters. Every connection we make is approached with care and gratitude and we pride ourselves in making our customers feel special while at the same time celebrating their pets. If we can bring a smile to families through our products, that’s the ultimate reward. I definitely have learned a lot to get to where I am today. I have always been a go-getter and hustler but running a small business is different than any job I’ve ever had. It’s definitely not easy it can be very overwhelming at times and one of the most important things I’ve learned is how to manage my time better. I remember when I first started I would stay up until 3am working on orders and work go to work the next day with only two hours of sleep. I was sabotaging my own self because I would be so drained that I wouldn’t be able to get anything done after a couple days of staying up all night. I really had to readjust and make time throughout the day to work on my business. I’ve learned that if you really want to be successful you have to dedicate a lot of time to your brand, things don’t happen overnight Time and patience are key. I want the world to know that the Paw Shopp is truly dedicated to showing others the importance of your pets and how much they mean truly mean to you. We hope that translates into the work that we put out. That we’re thankful. Thankful for all the people who’ve given homes to so many pets and choose to make them a part of their families.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely recommend The LBX Hangar, It’s dog and family friendly, there’s tons of food and shopping options. It’s such a nice place to hangout on the weekend and they usually have live music as well. Another place I would visit is ballast point they have a great selection of drinks and food and amazing views of Long Beach specially during sunset.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I definitely have to shoutout my boyfriend Albert, for going along with all my ideas and never telling me no! Every time I wanted to launch a new product or go to a pop up he always encouraged me and pumped me up. It’s always so encouraging knowing you have the support of your partner through all your failures and successes. Secondly my friends they all inspired me so much, always helping me and giving me new ideas. They’ve always listened and provided me with realistic feedback which is important when running a business. And thirdly Miguel my social media manager, photographer, digital creator and so much more! Our collaboration has inspired so many fun ideas for The Paw Shopp.
