We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher Cargnoni and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christopher, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I think its the authenticity. We wanted to come out and own the “streetwear” lane for the dog category. So that means everything we do much represent that culture from our content, the voice of our brand, the products we develop, etc. So when you are authentic with your brand and you are unique in your category, its easier to find success when you are filling a void.

Also since we were the first brand to represent streetwear culture in pet market, we gained a lot of interest from major brands like NBA, Hello Kitty, Spongebob, etc. This is because these brands understood there was a voice

What should our readers know about your business?
Fresh Pawz is the first ever pet brand dedicated to bridging streetwear culture to the pet market. We launched in 2018 and its been a wild ride to say the least. Theres a ton of challenges any small upstart business is going to face, cash flow problems, inventory planning, content creation, etc. Theres so many tasks and such little time to do everything. So I think going into any business you’d want to be mentally prepared that you will face hardships and challenges but the key is to find solutions and move forward.

Theres a lot to be proud of in our short period of time, we are launching in Target Stores June 20th 2021, this is a major accomplishment that I’m very proud of. We’ve done major licensing deals with NBA, MLB, Champion and other major properties, but I think most important moment I’m proud of is just believing in my vision and not giving up on the concept of this brand, and also not giving up during any of the hardships to this point.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Haha I’m not sure if i’m the best person to lead a tour guide! Its difficult to answer because it would change depending on the person involved. Overall, I think I’d lead the day with a hike at Griffith Park, its got good views of the city and its a good little workout to start the day with. Probably brunch at Elephante in Santa Monic by the ocean, amazing food and. beautiful views, then go hang out for a bit at Malibu Wine & Beer Gardens for some good vibes and relaxation. Since we are already so far in west LA after that I’d suggest Nobu Malibu for a snack and some amazing views, and then I’d love to finish the night at one of my favorite restaurants called Bestia in downtown Los Angeles for the best Bone Marrow dish ever!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I think being surrounded by likeminded individuals and watching how others create successful brands from scratch and putting myself in position to learn and gain knowledge is mainly how I’ve gotten here. I wouldn’t want to name individual people as there’s bound to be people left out from this. I think overall though you can have all the mentorship and encouragement you want From others, but if you yourself don’t put the work in to do what it is you want to accomplish then the praises and guidance won’t amount to anything.
