We had the good fortune of connecting with Cindy Ledesma and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cindy, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea of my business came across through the love that I’ve always had for bartending and the endless support my husband gives me. After becoming a mom for the first time I couldn’t bare going back to work after just three short months. I have always said that no matter where life takes me I’d always want to be behind the bar. And with that my husband inspired me not only to bartend more but to start my own business and share my craft with others at all their special events. Ever since starting I’ve hit the ground running and haven’t looked back.
What should our readers know about your business?
I think what sets me apart from others is the fact that my business isn’t just about bartending. I love creating genuine relationships with clients because it allows to customize even the most minute details. I don’t want to just customize the names of the cocktails on the menu, I want for my cocktails to remind you of your favorite memories or to create special memories amongst the people around you. It’s about more than just a cocktail, its an entire experience.
I got to where I am today with my business after 9 straight years of bartending music festivals, concerts, and restaurants. It wasn’t always easy some days consisted of 16 hour shifts with 6 hours in between my next shift but even in the most brutal weather and the most tiring of times I loved every minute of it.
I overcame any and every challenge by reminding myself that I truly do love to bartend and it didn’t matter how long the hours were, how cold or hot it was I just wanted to be behind the bar pouring the next person a drink. Although it may just be pouring a drink for some, for others that small conversation while creating fun in a cup really does mean a lot more.
Some of the lessons I’ve learned along the way is that even the smallest of accomplishments deserve celebrations because one day you will be looking back remembering that where you are standing now will have only seemed like a dream in the past.
I want the world to know that you should always fall in to doing what you love because no matter how hard things may get you will always feel rewarded in doing what you love.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The people that most deserve a shout out are my husband, my bestfriend, and every client that has booked me thus far. I thank my husband for believing in me and supporting me endlessly even in times when I don’t know if my ideas will work. He’s always there to remind me that although I may not have the aesthetic that everyone loves there will be many who will love my aesthetic. He always reminds me that even the smallest of accomplishments matter because what may seem small now might have been huge before! I can’t thank my best friend Jojo from Titus & Jocelyn Carlson, she’s been my number one fan since before becoming a business. Whether it’s booking me for her own events or helping me get bookings through her own clients she’s always there to remind me how much she believe in not just me but my craft as well. Lastly I’d like to shout out every client that has booked me thus far, they help keep my dream alive and inspire me to think outside the box and continue to grow creatively
