We had the good fortune of connecting with Cinthia Nicolini and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cinthia, what inspires you?
1- I am a music therapist. I help people heal non-integrated aspects of their own personality or traumas or simply personal, professional and spiritual development. Therefore, my thought process for creating my business was, how can I make more people aware of this wonderful method of healing through music?

2- “Everything is gonna be ok”. I believe that human beings avoid suffering and we convince ourselves that everything is going to be fine because we do not want to go through pain, to come into contact with our own emotions even if they are painful. I am convinced that the obstacles on the path are precisely what build it.

3- Taking risks is what builds you in your personal and professional life. I have lived in different countries, it has been difficult for me to adapt. Many things have not been easy, however, I do not regret at all every risk taken and every adventure experienced. I would do it again! All of that makes who I am today and I am very happy with who I am 🙂

4- The habits that help me in my daily life are: daily meditation, journaling, cultivating myself with good reading, eating healthy, sleep well, doing physical activity (I swim and practice yoga), being in nature as much as I can and disconnecting from the phone an hour before going to sleep.

5- The most important factor behind my brand is personalized attention and attentive listening, understanding from the heart what the other person needs from me.

6- The most important lesson my carrer has taught me is being patient.

7- Balance is essential when working with people therapeutically. I always leave myself time between sessions, and take breaks during the day to rest.

8- I studied a specific music therapy method, known as Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music or GIM, and I continued to specialize to always give my best to my clients.

9- Music has been part of my life since I was little, it is an expression of myself. Combining music with therapy to help other people through music has been the best thing that has happened to me in my life. It’s my mission.

10- What inspires me is the hero/heroine within us. That is, people who reflect on themselves, who want to improve their lives, who go out in search and who walk that path even if it is often difficult.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What excites me most about my work is the ability of music to heal and see the process of change in my clients. The results are really beneficial!
The difficulties that arise are the lack of knowledge of the method I use. People want to have quick results and although it is a very fast and efficient method, it is necessary to do a process of at least 10 sessions to observe the changes in one’s daily life.
One of the choices I have learned is to be patient and respect people’s personal times.
I would like people to approach the method, try it and see the results. They are incredible!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A good Phil concert, the art museum, a walk in the hills and a spontaneous meal. For me, the most important thing is the conversation throughout the stay 😉

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
It is difficult to choose a person. Many people have helped me in my career and should be recognized here. However, I could mention the book “A path with heart” by Jack Kornfield, which has been very important in my spiritual path; and also some friends: Erika McMillan, my acupuncturist, who has helped me in my spiritual life and Georgia Mc Bride, a friend who has motivated me to follow the path of Music Therapy. They were so inspiring!!!
