Meet Clark Copland | Musician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Clark Copland and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Clark, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
The reason I chose an artistic and creative career is because of passion. Throughout everything in life, I’m always drawn back into some sort of art form. It allows a sense of freedom and a reward to bringing something to life. Each song I make is an escape into its own sort of reality.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m an independent artist who has had to navigate my own way throughout this musical path. Starting with little to no experience, to taking a chance and exposing my art form to see how others would digest it. Making my initial full length project allowed me to deep dive into a creative state and introduce my sound to the world.

I’ve learnt to always take a chance, always grow, and always take guidance from whoever has input. At the end of the day my music is a product for others to enjoy. I find joy in showcasing my creation and having an effect on anyone who listens in their own personal way.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I always find myself in different situations. One thing always leads to another. Los Angeles has so many different pockets to enjoy. If the itinerary was picking them up from LAX, I would take a quick drive to Great White in Venice, drive a bit of the PCH. Take Sunset to have a steak at BOA… but also know that I could run into any fork in the road leading to something new and exciting as well. Having no set plan can be the best plan.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I owe a shoutout to the people closest to me and the people I look up to. I feel as if my musical inspirations keep me driven and push me forward. While my friends and family keep me true to myself throughout the process.
