Meet Connie Conway | Fine Art Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Connie Conway and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Connie, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Single most important factor behind my success. Patiences. Finding your path to success. Everyone’s journey is different. Keep making art. It’s worth it!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve been making pictures since I was five years old. It’s what I love to do!
LA After SUNSET is collection of photographs that captures the beauty and essence of Los Angeles dramatic transformation at SUNSET.
Each image is an illumination of the oddities of the respective landscape – both physical and societal.
The end result? Powerful images which evoke a unique combination for gritty reality and ethereal make believe.
To bridges to life, I’ve stood on over 100 corners, rooftops and bridges since 2009.
It’s the “City of Angels”, I’m bringing these famously storied streets alive at SUNSET.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Friend in town for the weekend! Walking tour of DTLA. Starting at Grand Avenue, street of sweet sounds and art. You could spend hours enjoying the Disney Concert Hall and The Broad. Finish with a stroll around California Plaza.
Next stop – Broadway Ave at Sunset. Sights and sounds of the original Los Angeles. Home of some fabulous vintage neon signs, Orpheum Theatre, Los Angeles Theatre and Eastern building.
Lunch – Grand Central Market – it’s a Smorgasbord. Easy. Enjoy!
Dinner at Maccheroni Republic – atmosphere is fun and welcoming. Pasta is handcrafted daily.
Food is delicious.
Night cap – Perch, view is breathtaking!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My LA After SUNSET Collection and LA Collective photo art series is influenced by the works O Winston Links, “Birmingham Special” and David Hockney’s “Pearl Blossom Highway”. Both Link and Hockney create dept and drama with the intent to bring the viewers eye to the center of the work of art!
There work is highly influential in how and I see and make photographs!
