We had the good fortune of connecting with Corey Cail and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Corey, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks has always been a key ingredient in my journey to success. One of the most pivotal decisions I made was stepping away from the traditional path of higher education to fully immerse myself in the music industry. Choosing to pursue a career in the studio, without the safety net of a college degree, was a gamble. But for me, it was about trusting my instincts and passion for music. In hindsight, that decision turned out to be incredibly rewarding, as it allowed me to grow as an artist, collaborate with talented individuals, and ultimately become a multi-platinum producer. I’ve always believed that calculated risks are a powerful driver of personal and professional growth.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a mult-platinum producer. I’m most proud of producing several RIAA certified singles for rap artist Young Dolph. I started working in a recording studio after high school and learned how to produce & engineer records. It wasn’t easy, having to commit to music and not hanging out with friends and family was the sacrifice I made. I’ve learned that if you want to achieve something you must be disciplined and focus on the goals you set for your self. I have 4 RIAA certifications all independent.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them down to the Pike in Long Beach. There’s several restaurants like Yard House & Ruth Chris that are great for dining. After we eat I would go down to the beach and catch the sunset. There’s also plenty of activities like arcades and movie theaters by the Pike.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shout out my mentor Kxng Crooked. He was very influential in my life and inspired me to be a music producer. He is one of the greatest hip-hop lyricist ever.
