Meet Craig Quinlan | Managing Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Craig Quinlan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Craig, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
You can’t get to second base if you’re worried about taking your foot off first base. I was taught something long ago that has stuck with me to this day and that is successful people do the things that unsuccessful people aren’t willing to do. It isn’t that successful people like doing those things any more than the unsuccessful person, they just focus on the right ‘R”. They focus on the result vs the rejection or risk involved. Belief in self and focusing on the positive outcome, is something I’ve always tried to do.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m most proud of my tenacity. Staying the course when others may have wanted to change directions but knowing that staying the course was the right and only way to go. In my nearly 38 years of experience, the thing I’ve loved the most was the impact I have had on people’s lives. As an Advisor, my goal is to always leave clients in a much better financial place than I found them. Later, as I was developing Advisors, I have had the same mission statement, “to help people accomplish more than they ever thought possible.” Growing from an Advisor to now leading offices in Chicago, New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles, has given me so much more growth and perspective vs staying stationary.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This question is a fun one for sure! I’d take them to John O Groats for some breakfast and conversation with our amazing server and good friend, Davina. We’d then take a bike ride on the Strand, take in the ocean breeze and people watch. Then head to The Brixton and watch a little sports with my favorite bartender, Lance. First night we we’d head over to George Petrellis Steakhouse and sit at the bar with a great gentleman named Juan. Night two we’d head over to R+D Kitchen where the atmosphere is always lively (make sure and ask for Isa and Jasmine and you will be treated 1st class)! Lastly, we can’t miss a night out at Eddy V’s where Renee is taking care of us like we are family!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This is dedicated to my West LA TEAM – Ari, Kyle, Brianna, Kira, Molly, Viviana, Jace, Ryan, Ian, Laura, Carvon, and Justin. It takes a village and I have the best Village, BAR NONE! Thank you! Also, a shoutout to my hometown and family. Growing up in Rantoul, Il I learned good old-fashioned Midwest values. Having four brothers and sisters (Carla, Carey, Carissa and Corey), we were seldom bored. My parents, Bill and Carolyn, taught me two very important things. #1 There is no substitution for hard work. #2 Be kind to Everyone. To my daughter Catherine, her Fiancé, Josh, our Granddaughter, Harley Jo, and my son Christopher… I’m so proud and happy to see all of you getting everything you want out of life and I love You! I also would be remiss if I didn’t thank my wife and the Love of my life and forever partner, Renee Quinlan.
