We had the good fortune of connecting with Crystal Bond-Eskander and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Crystal, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I loved the idea of being in charge of my own destiny and starting something that I could call my own. Being in charge of what sort of designer I wanted to be not what I was told I had to be like.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is Interior design. I remodel, re-style and rethink my clients spaces. Wether it is their personal homes, offices, vacation homes. Whatever the need. I would say my friendliness and willing to listen to my clients and create them a space that they truly love. I am proud and excited when a client loves there space and can’t stop raving about it. Nothing makes me happy than to see a space more usable and loved. It was a rough road to get here for sure. It doesn’t happen overnight. I started Design almost 20 years ago and there has been a lot a trial and error.
The challenges use to get me down in the beginning and I was not sure how to overcome them, now I use each challenge as a chance to grow and become stronger and better. For example In the beginning I took for granted the power of having a strong contract and agreement. Setting the tone for how much more money ad. More time this process will typically take than people realize.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would not be where I am today without a small village of people really. First my great photographer Maria Hedrick for capturing my work, without her people would never be able to view what I do. I owe a lot of my success to an amazing designer who mentored me for years. Cathy Morehead of Morehead and Associates has always been a pillar in my design career, filled with a treasure trove of helpful advise and resources and great advise. The best resource I have kept close to me all of these years has been DRC of Costa Mesa, ca. they are a to the trade showroom that I have sourced all of my furnishings and fun things I have put into every space I have done. Their expertise and unique sources of furnishings has helped me stay truly revenant in my style. My family has always been very supportive and loving on this long journey as well.
