We had the good fortune of connecting with Czar Scott and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Czar, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Mainly because this is where my love for writing, music, and philosophising meet … Yes, philosophising. (are we allowed to joke in here?) For the sake of this interview, let’s replace “philosophising” with, my love for watching and/or hearing things come together. The feeling I get when I hear the completed version of a song I’m apart of, is almost inexplicable. Especially now that I got to the point of creating at a level that I can be proud of. Considering I try to create (or write) with purpose, I genuinely feel like I have a reason to exist. Not that I think that I’m needed more so coming up, I felt unaccounted for as a fan of hip hop and a fan of soul music. With that being said, I always try to be the artist I’d be a fan of.

Come With Me…

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My music is a true extension of who I am. At most, Czar Scott is only a slightly exaggerated version of myself. In which, is what sets me apart from most artist that would consider themselves “rappers”. If not that, it’s either my versatility or just the way I approach the microphone. Which one, isn’t important. As long, as you feel something when you hear my music… Evoking like art is supposed to be. My art is a blend of escapism, a peak at reality from my perspective, and tributes to pieces that inspired me (it’s hip hop). Trying to capture that isn’t something that came naturally to me. That came with a lot of long nights, studying the craft and the business, experiencing more of life, and torn up composition books. Every single “hard-work” and “believe in yourself” saying or cliche can’t be anymore applicable than they are to me, trying to elevate my career. I’m not quite where I want to be but with the progress I’ve seen, I know I have to stay with it and keep believing and working hard.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A friend coming to Los Angeles from out of town? Simple, we’re doing all of the typical tourist stuff. From checking out the beaches, to shopping (like checking out Beverly Hills), to sight seeing (like checking out Hollywood). When it comes to eating out here, it just depends on the mood. it can go down in any of the places I named above. Another thing that makes it so great being here. I’ll for sure make sure they’ve tried authentic Mexican food before they leave. That is, if they aren’t already coming from somewhere else on the west coast. We’ll surely knock off most things on the wish list, We’ll also try to make one LA sports event, hit a theme park, and hit downtown most nights for a drink
