We had the good fortune of connecting with Jared White and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jared, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
One of the most important lessons my creative career has taught me is the power of rest. A lot of times, hustle culture can influence the way we perform our craft to the point we don’t give ourselves the proper time to recharge. When I first started I was never one to take breaks but as my creative career has progressed, taking the time to slow down and has been a top priority for me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an editorial photographer born and raised in West Philadelphia. I work in both film and digital photography, with a primary focus on visual branding and editorial work. I am really inspired by surrealism and conceptual projects. I feel like I am most known for my short-form behind the scenes visuals and my offbeat conceptual photoshoots. Something that I feel sets me apart from others is my deep understanding of branding and my ability to elevate the visual narrative of my clients while still aligning with their image. Furthermore, the work that I am most proud of is my recent ad work Michael Kors.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I definitely have to start off by crediting my mom. She has been instrumental in my growth as a creative and as a businessman and has invested in my dream every step of the way. Aside from her, my creative friends have been super supportive in making sure I stay aligned and have been constant cheerleaders in my corner and mine in theirs. In terms of specific creatives, there are literally so many that I have come in contact with that have gotten me to where I am today (more than I can count!). And lastly, all of my clients are daily affirmations and reminders to keep going. I am forever grateful for all of the clients that have supported my business.
