Meet Dana Andrews | An Electrician and a Core Group Member of A Childs Dream-Ca

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dana Andrews and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dana, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
“Worker Harder!! And you will go farther! Hard work alone will not propell you to the place you may want to be in life and or your career. It is true that you must create some sort of plan for your career. You must revisit that plan to see if you have kept course.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Teller Electric Inc. is in the electrical repair and installation business. We are now so depened on items that need to be powered; and that power grid has to be right. Safety is not thought about until you lose it. The World is Going Green!! I started the business with a work history of 23 years in the electrical trade. Working up from an helper to journeymen. Working in commerical, residential and industrial industries. I become the Senior Electrical Inspector of the BP Refinery in 2012 and since moved on to other endeavors. It was not easy and worker protections were not what they are today. I learned how to navigate and raise through ranks not letting anyone else determine my outcome. Within all that there is care for people. Electricity must be installed correctly.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would insist on a motorcyle ride up the coast to take in the sights and visit various spots from Orange County to Malibu. You have to walk Hollywood blvd and experience that. Grab some pastrami fries from the Hat. I’m big on family so I would have to fire up the grill and play some cards.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Mother and Grandmother instilled in me the importance of keeping God first and going to work. I had my first job working at hoover park when I was 16. I had to fill out the application myself at Exposition park. I saw both of them work hard. I would like to shout out the Weaver family. The men in that family should me how to use tools and read repair manuals. They also introduced me to guitar playing with I still do today.
