We had the good fortune of connecting with Dana Bowling and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dana, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Having worked as a Casting Director for 15 years, I hadn’t the slightest idea about starting a business. What I did have was ambition, motivation and the positive attitude that “everything is figureoutable” and as long as I just kept trying and didn’t take no for an answer, I would get it done. I started by going all in on something I KNEW I could do: coach actors. After gaining success, I realized my passion was in business, and helping other females start their online businesses, get out of their own way and launch on Instagram and on camera! In January of 2020, I made the official PIVOT and I’ve never been more successful and aligned than I am now.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am a business and motivational coach with a passion for inspiring and guiding women in the beginning stages of starting an online business. Previously, I was a Casting Director and Talent Agent and therefore, no stranger to helping people achieve their dreams. I have helped hundreds of women who have big dreams, huge ideas, and tons of passion get over their fears of judgement, insecurities about not knowing how to run a business, and all the way to the launching and growth phase of their business. I focus mostly on Instagram and ways to show up on social media and video unapologetically to grow and impact others. My new podcast, AMP IT UP with Dana Bowling premiered on September 2nd! I have built a 6 figure business from my home in under 18 months. I also am a mom to two boys ages 7 and 5. None of this has been easy but nothing is more rewarding than working for myself and helping others daily.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, COVID sure put a damper on this… However, I’m a valley girl now. I live in Sherman Oaks and spend my time hiking the gorgeous hills up to Mulholland, eating at Sushi restaurants (iroja and kabosu are my faves) and I also love working out at F45 Sherman Oaks and The Beat Fitness.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband, Lance Bowling and his company F22 Studios. They have supported me through it all.
