We had the good fortune of connecting with Daneisha Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daneisha, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
I’m a strong believer in never give up. Unless it is affecting your health, life, or family there is no reason to ever give up.
Keep going, keep overcoming obstacles and when you enter your winning season you’ll appreciate it even more because of all you’ve been through to get there.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I own a luxury lingerie & loungewear brand Forever Yanè. What sets my brand apart from others is we strive to make every woman feel seen and represented by our brand. We strive to uplift our women by offering luxury lingerie pieces that compliment every body type. We want women to feel beautiful in lingerie without the validation of a man.
My journey business-wise was a rollercoaster ride. I’ve always known I wanted to be a business owner however I worked in corporate America up until December 2019. 2019 is also when I started my entrepreneurship journey and it has been one hell of a ride with some very high HIGHS and some lows. But, through it all, I’ve prospered and have been enjoying every minute of it.
What excites me most is hearing the sound my phone makes when I get an order. I know that I’m getting ready to pack an order with love and help someone bring their confidence back.
Along the way, I’ve learned to not compare where I am in business to others and to understand everyone has their winning season, and instead of looking at what I don’t have be grateful for where I am and what I do have.
Lastly, I’d like you all to know that Forever Yanè is your new home for luxury lingerie and loungewear. When you shop with us your supporting a dream and helping me reach more women who need that positive encouragement. We also want the ladies around the world to know “size doesn’t define your BEAUTY”
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my bestie was coming into town, we’d be shutting the city down.
Doing brunch at Castaway in Burbank and dinner at Rusty Pelican in Newport Beach. We’d do some shopping at one of the outlets (Citadel or Ontario Mills). Our nights would consist of a few bars down in San Diego and of course, bowling (cause who doesn’t like bowling). We’d hit the beach and just have a great girls trip week
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shout out to the woman who raised me (my grandmother Louise). I recently lost her but I know she’s smiling down on me from heaven. She helped me become the woman I am today and I wish I had more time with her to show and tell her how much I appreciated everything she did for me. Love you LouLou, may you Rest In Peace my love.
