We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Becker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniel, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I wish there was some grand moment that I can brag about for the idea of starting my business, however, there is not. Throughout my career in E-commerce and digital marketing, I have learned the power of data and understand the importance it plays.

The idea for my current business simply came from data. My previous store that we operated was designed to speak to women, and before my exit, I spent weeks understanding the data. What the data was saying was that while we were attempting to speak to women, men were buying 10x more. Once we understood that we were predominately selling to men, we looked at the marketplace for the answer to why. That is when we realized that in our space, nobody was speaking to men. Men had nowhere to shop in our space and therefore we made a conscious effort to provide that with our current business.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve been in E-commerce since 2008 and have seen the winds change many times. It has been a real challenge to separate our brands and establish ourselves as creative leaders in our space. When everyone was going on Amazon, we decided to buck that trend and build our own. We want to own our customer journey from start to finish and not rely on a 3rd party marketplace to send us orders to fill for their customer. It has taken many years but we have finally come out on top. We are the leading online retailer of men’s sexual health products and very proud of it.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to recognize all the hardworking members of my team. They are the real power behind the brand and company. Without my team, I am just a guy at a computer. It takes all of us to create such a powerful brand and great company to work at!
