Meet Daniel Di Biase | Tattoo artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Di Biase and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daniel, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think taking risks is essential to growth. Choosing to pursue a creative passion as a career is a risk in of itself. If I wasn’t willing to take that risk, I would not have been able to enjoy the career that I have now as a tattoo artist, and I would probably be doing something that I’m not passionate about, wondering what it would have been like if I did pursue tattooing. Another way that taking risks applies to my career is related to how I design pieces. In order to raise the quality of the work, I have to avoid playing it safe and keep ideas interesting and creative.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I would say that my student mindset has been the main thing that has gotten me to where I am at today. Without a formal art background, I understood I had to soak up as much knowledge as I could as quickly as possible. Seeking out mentors and always welcoming feedback is something that I’m a big believer in. The love that I have for tattooing as an art form is what drives me to never settle and push my work as far as I can.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spots in the city are places that give me inspiration. I would recommend checking out some of the local museums like The Broad or the Getty Villa. Also, West Hollywood and the Arts District have some of the best restaurants (currently, my favorite restaurant is Bavel). Catching a comedy show after dinner at the world famous Comedy Store is a must. Lastly, there are some great scenic hiking trails in Los Angeles, I would recommend Elysian Park or Runyon Canyon.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The crew at Hous Studios in the Arts District, LA.
