We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Rice and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daniel, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
I think a balance between work, your own fitness and spare time for yourself and family is very important. I’ve learned that scheduling your workout session in your calendar has been very helpful. Telling myself that the evenings from 7pm on is my time with family or time for myself to unwind. I find it to be vital for a healthy well-being
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career in the fitness industry has been great overall. But like I’ve said before, not everyday is going to be a step forward but you can make everyday an opportunity. When I started to practice this method I’ve found myself less jealous or down on myself. I’ve learned that it’s okay to have slow days or days of rest because anything that is long term you need to have resting point to sustain the long journey. One of my proudest movements in my career is being published in a national magazine. I loved that I was able to give millions of readers a few fitness tips to apply to their daily lives that may or may not have known.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
That easy! Right where I live in Santa Monica, California. One of my favorite places to eat is moonshadows in Malibu. It’s right along the water and has very tasty, healthy meals. Then I would watch the sunset along the coast. It’s so beautiful!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would say my best friends Brianna Bodin. She has always been my joy in my day. No matter where my mindset is at that day I know she can always make me laugh!
