Meet Daniel Siriban | Founder & Chef at Roshi Experience

We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Siriban and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daniel, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Roshi Experience was born during the pandemic, at a time when many of us in the restaurant industry suddenly lost our jobs and sense of stability. Like a lot of chefs, I was forced to pause and ask myself what was next, and more importantly, how I could continue doing what I love in a meaningful way.
With restaurants closed and people craving connection more than ever, I saw an opportunity to bring restaurant-quality sushi and genuine hospitality directly into people’s homes. It wasn’t just about surviving; it was about adapting and creating something more personal, intimate, and intentional.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets Roshi Experience apart is the intention behind everything we do. We’re not just serving sushi, we’re stepping into people’s homes and creating moments they’ll remember. That level of trust means a lot to me, and it’s something I’m incredibly proud of.
Getting here wasn’t easy. The business started during the pandemic, with a lot of uncertainty and no clear playbook. I went from working in restaurant kitchens to building everything from the ground up, learning through mistakes, long nights, and showing up even when it was hard. What carried me through was staying consistent, caring deeply about the details, and always putting the client experience first.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that real growth comes from patience, integrity, and resilience. Roshi Experience is built on passion, heart, and hospitality—and at the core of it, it’s about connection. That’s the story I want people to feel when they experience our brand.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting, I’d show them the real SoCal vibe – good food, sun, and laid-back energy. We’d start in Chino Hills where I live, maybe a morning hike at Chino Hills State Park and coffee nearby.
From there, we’d hit some of my favorite spots; a few classic taco stands, and a beach day in Laguna Beach for sunset walks and drinks. A couple nights would be about city energy at Downtown LA or the Arts District for cocktails, music, and people-watching.
And honestly, one night would be at home, serving him fresh sushi, good wine, and letting the night just unfold. To me, that’s the heart of Southern California: great food, good people, and moments you actually remember.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, I want to shout out my wife, Rina, and my two amazing kids, Lincoln and Kennedy. They’ve been my foundation – they gave me the courage to keep going when things felt overwhelming.
I also want to recognize my incredible chef team and assistants. This experience wouldn’t be what it is without their talent, discipline, and heart. They show up every time with the same level of care and pride, and I’m deeply grateful to work alongside people who truly believe in the vision.
And finally, a huge thank you to our clients – the ones who trusted us, welcomed us into their homes, and allowed us to be part of their most meaningful moments. Your trust is something I never take lightly, and it’s the reason Roshi Experience continues to grow the way it has.
