We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Fielder and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danielle, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought has been there for a while, ever since I had my first child and stopped working for my husbands company, I felt a pull to have something of my own, I knew it would have to incorporate my children in this stage of life and after having my third baby, my creative juices so to speak were extremely heightened, in an effort to share a piece of joy from our families daily routine, the little sensory box co was born!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am not the first person to create sensory bins, tables, and play BUT what sets me apart is me, I have not only a love for my child but a love for your child, I hope my energy and passion shines through my work! I absolutely love personalization, I want to make every detail custom to your child and that’s exactly what I do and what sets me apart, this came very natural to me, the hard part was “pulling the trigger” on starting the company but the creative aspect flows from within.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
It would be a matcha tour of Orange County! I love indoor / outdoor restaurants, coffee shops, etc. I live in north Tustin and I love the charm of old town Tustin. I would also be venturing over to Orange and grab a tea at play coffee or cedar house coffee. We would spend time walking balboa and letting our babies run in the sand and slow waveless water! We would then have to grab a sandwhich at Cest Ci Bon and grab another matcha at Milligram.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes! My family, my children are the reason behind my business and the reason for my passion and drive. And my husband who has encouraged the entrepreneurial spirit in me, he is the person I’ve thrown ideas at and listened to my struggles, I’m very grateful to have a husband who not only owns his own business but who supports mine!
