We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle M. Alexander and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danielle, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Authenticity is the one thing I’d say has contributed most to the success of my brand. I’m inherently someone who is collaborative, a perfectionist, and a social butterfly. Most of my business comes through referrals from people I know and have worked with — they’ve all seen firsthand how passionate I am about my work and how much I care about the people I work for and with. My clients and collaborators appreciate that and know that I will deliver for them and anyone they refer me to.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is Posh 5 Productions, an event planning and program management company specializing in high profile events. It’s a boutique company, which allows us to spend more time working one-on-one with clients to make sure we’re covering all event logistics and understand the goals of both the event and the client.

The company sets itself apart by handling both the logistical and programmatic components of an event. That said, we often work with clients to develop, plan, and produce various aspects of an event, including the event concept and design, marketing campaign, and sponsor fulfillment.

Getting to this point professionally took many years of patience and persistence. It took time to build my portfolio and expand my network to the point where it is now. The unexpected and yet very pleasant surprise behind that slow process though, is that I now have an extended group of clients, collaborators, vendors, and staff that I can not only count on to trust me and my company professionally, but that also count me as a friend. I think that’s also one of the most important factors in my (if not all) business: strong relationships with the people I work with and for.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d make sure we visit some of the more obligatory spots: Melrose, Hollywood Blvd, Venice Beach, Rodeo Drive, Sunset Blvd. I’d take them to Pink’s, El Cholo, The Grove and Original Farmer’s Market. I also think that our local sports venues, theme parks, museums, and Griffith Park are all on the must-see list. As an added bonus, I always like to grab lunch or dinner somewhere with a nice view of the city, so maybe The Huntley in Santa Monica or Yamashiro in Hollywood.

Once that’s all out of the way then I’d drive us down to Palos Verdes one day to grab lunch and enjoy the beach without the crowds. It’s always nice to have at least one day that’s semi-relaxing, away from the crowds, but still gives visitors a taste of California.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ve always been appreciative of the many friends, family, and colleagues who have pushed me and supported my professional growth throughout the years. Every single one of them — and especially those that took a chance on me in the early stages of my career and business — holds a special place in my heart.
