We had the good fortune of connecting with Darrin Schneider and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Darrin, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
I would love to have my successful fabric company blend with a high end furniture maker to create a brand that is available to everyone. At the end of my career I would love to be able to have one of my children take over the family business.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m a third generation owner of our families fabric and leather company. My Grandfather started the company in 1975. After he retired my Dad ran the company for just over 20 years. My Dad retired when my Mom was diagnosed with Cancer. She beat it and is doing great! 🙏. I’m 43 years old and have been working at George M. since I was 21. This is my 22nd year in the industry and I’m constantly evolving. I have learned so much about how businesses work and what makes a company successful. Having amazing employees is a key to any successful company. My office manager Ana is my right hand man. She is the glue that keeps our company running smoothly. I want my story to be one of timeless craftsmanship, where every fabric and hide I offer connects the artistry of the past with the bold visions of today’s designers. Through my work, I aim to inspire beauty, authenticity, and a lasting appreciation for quality in every space touched by my materials.

And here’s a fun week-long itinerary that blends food, style, and unforgettable vibes:

Day 1: Arrival + Welcome Feast
Start with brunch at République for the ultimate croissant and shakshuka, followed by an afternoon stroll through HD Buttercup (gotta show off your work!) and drinks at Bar Flores in Echo Park. End the day with a late dinner at Bestia—the bone marrow and pasta are unbeatable.

Day 2: Fabric + Flavors
Tour your fabric warehouse in the morning (because it’s impressive), then lunch at Sqirl for a grain bowl and that famous ricotta toast. Spend the afternoon at The Broad or MOCA, and finish with dinner at n/naka if you’re lucky enough to get a reservation.

Day 3: Malibu Magic
Drive the PCH to Malibu Farm for a beachside brunch, hang at El Matador Beach, then grab seafood at Neptune’s Net. Back in town, stop at Musso & Frank Grill for a martini and old Hollywood vibes.

Day 4: Market Day + Street Food
Morning at the Hollywood Farmers’ Market, lunch at Guelaguetza for Oaxacan mole, then hit up the Arts District for breweries, coffee at Maru, and a visit to ROW DTLA. Dinner: Majordomo—try the bing bread.

Day 5: Design & Dessert
Take your guest to Rose Bowl Flea Market or L.A. Design Center, then reward the treasure hunting with lunch at Jon & Vinny’s. For dinner, do a Koreatown crawl: start with Korean BBQ at Kang Ho-dong Baekjeong, then karaoke and late-night bingsu.

Day 6: Nature & Nostalgia
Morning hike at Griffith Park or Runyon Canyon, then refuel at The Alcove. Wander Larchmont Village, do vintage shopping, and catch a movie at New Beverly Cinema. Dinner at Petit Trois or Osteria Mozza for something cozy and indulgent.

Day 7: Send-Off in Style
Brunch at Great White in Venice, walk Abbot Kinney, and watch the sunset from Santa Monica Pier. Cap the trip with dinner at Mother Wolf—because you always end on a high note.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My sister Kim Doner is amazing! She constantly talks to her friends about my business and has showcased my business on her social media. Gotta give a huge shoutout to my wife. She’s a successful entrepreneur who works from home and takes care of our kids. I couldn’t do this without her.
