We had the good fortune of connecting with Darryl Appiah Brian Wilson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Darryl Appiah, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Broad question because a number of things can make me or anyone happy…food, money, socializing, resting, seeing others happy etc. but if we want to dig deeper, happiness comes from within. I believe one cannot be truly until they are happy with themselves. Happiness is a choice and happiness can be situational so for me I can say I truly get joy out of setting someone else up to succeed wether it’s something big or small, friend or family. How I see it is I’m a be good regardless so helping someone else getting closer to what makes them happy makes me happy. -Darryl
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As creatives you are constantly playing and meddling with ideas. I think what works for Brian and I is that we have a great balance. I don’t mind being on the scene while he prefers to be on the back end. I’m more of a risk taker and he’s more risk adverse. Yes it can create some differences in opinion, but for the most part allows for perfect collaboration of ideas. We like to think of Prime Hierarchy a notch below Street Luxury. Due to the pandemic we had some minor setbacks but we’re working diligently to overcome. Have to stay consistent…
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are plenty spots to check out in DMV (DC, Maryland, VA) if you’re visiting. Local brunch spots in DC on every corner that you can’t go wrong with, or if you want a nice rooftop vibe on a nice day then Arlington in Northern VA is where you need to be. We got the National Harbor and MGM out In MD as well as plenty options for nightlife Sunday through Sunday. Obviously with the pandemic there are some limitations but you should still be able to enjoy yourself out here as we inch closer to some normalcy.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Not to sound like we won a Grammy or anything but first and foremost would like to shoutout God haha. Definitely couldn’t have made it as far as we had without the love and support from our close friends and family. Shoutout to our inner circle and any and everybody who’s ever purchased something from Prime Hierarchy.
